These handsome 'beasts' do jump so beware as one jumped on my camera one year and scarred the beejeebees outta me. You have done such a great job on capturing him in full body with complete sharpness on those eyes where the sharpness ought to be. That black hole in the background supplies us viewers with meat to the story of this curious spider coming out to have a look at you too. This photograph makes me happy, I am delighted to see him, so posed, so sweet and in his natural environment. Love it.
Thank you. I have been watching this little (very little, maybe 5 mm) spider for one hour in the ruins of an old castle, waiting for the sunset. The spider was chasing a fly during all this time, trying many tricks to catch it. The fly would just move at the very last moment and land again not far away. The spider was like a cat chasing a mouse, hiding behind stone bulges, following the shaded paths it made. But it did not win.
