kyricom: Doesn't this basically just mean "take a picture of something?"
(1 year and 219 days ago) MossyB: No, because the definition of "occupy" is: "to take up (a place or extent in space)" While a single pot on the stove would not be occupying the area, if all 4 burners had pots on them, the stove top would then be "occupied," because they would take up the cooking space. My cupboards are occupied by the dishes, because they take up the majority of that storage space. A singe cup sitting in an otherwise empty cupboard would be off theme.
Part of the concept is the relative space being occupied, as well as the "something" occupying it. Generally, (for this contest) I think it is the sense of how your chosen something fills the space that will help convey the sense of occupation...

(1 year and 219 days ago) Artifakts: I have to agree with Kyricom as in most of the pictures we see in that contest, we see something placed somewhere ... Becasue if you know just a little about the basical photography rules, "the sense of how your chosen something fills the space that will help convey the sense of occupation" should come naturally. I understand what you wanted us to do here, but I think there not enough restrictions and the door is opened to every kind of photography. Be honest. We have pictures of every subjects here and I'm not sure that when voting, most of the people will take consideration on how the occupied space is managed instead.
Well it's my opinion. Maybe I'm wrong.
(1 year and 214 days ago) kyricom: I agreed with Mossy's definition, but now that I've come back and looked at the entries agree with Artifakts too. There are some nice entries, but there are many of something just sitting somewhere, not necessarily connoting the idea of "occupying."
