Oh i do enjoy this photo, the look of fear is well done. I don't know what a low depth of field would do for this shot though since most of the elements of the subject are on such close focal planes in relationship to one another.

Neat idea - I think if the edge were anymore obvious you'd cut yourself on it.

Not if it's a butter knife. Too hard to tell the tip to be sure, and the blade does not show the distinctive light diffusion that delineates an angled edge...
