jfish: Dang it...we just had a huge storm and the sky literally turned bright orange at 10:00 pm. It was awesome and would have made for a great picture...but my baby was sleeping on me so I couldn't get up. Arg... ( 5 years and 2836 days ago )

drskn08: I am agreed with kcherry.. but i hope that moderator will do what they should do.. If some one post unknowingly then it might be ok but just to irritate Moderator is cheap... why can't people keep something fair & clean...Its really SAD ! jfish: Yep, my picture was taken off because I shot at 11:30 and the sky was brighter thanks to a full moon and a storm. I guess my area is too lit up if 11:30 is not considered night. And I notice there are a few day time shots that are still up...awesome. ( 5 years and 2831 days ago )

Beautiful picture. I'm just curious, with such a long exposure, how did you manage to keep all the boats perfectly sharp? I'd imaging they would be bobbing around a bit. Can you share your technique, Id love to try this.
This was actually 200 or so 25 sec exposures stacked together in a program called StarStaX.
Very cool picture, almost a timelapse of sorts. Congrats on a great image.
Nicely done author...I still need to try this technique, but my timing is terrible, when I have the time, the conditions suck for such a shot, when the conditions are good, I don't have the time to get to an interesting location. Very interesting entry indeed.
