Used to keep the power lines from flailing about too much during strong winds on the Tanzanian coast.(2 years and 337 days ago)
Novel idea...nice framing!
They also can be used as "weather" rocks.
If they're wet = raining
If they're dry = sunny
If they're swinging = windy
Great shot...love the angle and the contrast on your entry author...gl
I told my son how we used to make earrings out of the Geckos around our house when I was a kid, but he didn't believe me. He does now. :-)(2 years and 339 days ago)
Brilliant, does it hurt?
He was afraid they would, but you can barely feel them. When he realized that is when the smile came out.
See! I told ya'll lizard earrings are the best!!! Great shot
That's great! I had no idea geckos could be living earrings... How did you catch it? they're so shy...
When you have like 10000000000000000000000000 running around it's not that hard but best bet is to get the local young boys and tell them it's a contest to get the most... they can get them NO PROBLEM!
THis must be Florida. We did this all the time as children. One on each ear makes a nice set of earrings!
OMG FRELBOW!!! That's so funny!!! I'm in Florida and WE DID do this growing up. Course I was a little tomboy so I did what the boys did. Stay AWAY from the big ones... they pack a mean bite! lol
Lol - we get millions of these at home - I thought my son was the only one that does this!! Didn't know it was a sport

If you can re-shoot try this...
Use "spot metering" in your cameras metering mode & if i am right the walls & the roof will magically "disappear".
The + (cross) on your viewfinder or screen must be on the lamp so the camera gets light only from the "spot" you want it to!!!
Play with the exposure time to keep the cable visible (the lamp will be visible anyway).
That way this would look more "realistic" with out those "nasty" walls & roof.
If you got time try it & let me know!!!
Thanks very much for the advice, unfortunately I wont be able to re-shoot this one cause it was my old apartment. But that's useful advice for the future
Fair enough author.
