jawshoewhah: I was actually looking at the history of Picasso in wiki and that part of the quote was listed. I know, I know Kyricom. I can hear it now. Never trust all the info on wiki....
I was looking for info on Picasso for a traditional art contest suggestion and thought it would be fun to make our own Picasso paintings, but only in his style of course.

kyricom: IMHO... VERY few of the entries have anything at all to do with the theme. I think I agree with karaflazz in that you seem to be able to submit virtually anything, and then put some explanation that mentions "truth" or "lies" and it's suddenly on theme. ( 5 years and 3042 days ago )

To me this portrays the quote in a way that where most people are airbrushed to look like what society says the "MAJORITY" wants people to look like (THE LIE) and yet here you see they are painted as they are (THE TRUTH)

The lie here is that it portrays the act of it being ok to just destroy things to make an interesting and shorter path whereas the truth is we could have taken other avenues and enjoyed this 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 year old tree just as much, even if it took us a few extra steps to get there. My interpretation is this...in art, advertising, and certain (men's) magazines; the subject seems to be speaking or interacting with only the viewer...whomever that may be...a lie, but we perceive or want to believe that we, the viewer, are the one it's actually meant for... Lie:There is no way there is a plug like this on the back of someones neck.
True:Governments all around the globe controls us through media = fear.
Is like ppl are robots...
Programmable machines to do their work...to obey them orders.
We blindly listen to every thing they want us to believe.
We search for the "material" forgetting our human nature.
Our goal?
To buy a bigger house / car / better than the person next to us!!!
We fight each other for NO reason.
Thats what they want us to do...
