Main background image. The Biograph theater still exists in Chicago. When they made the movie "Public Enemies" they fixed up the theater, the street, and stores nearby. This picture was taken there. I cropped the picture to include only the necessary elements.

Cut out lady and colorized with Hue Sat. I felt like the dress style was appropriate for the thirties.

Rotated lady so her stride was shorter. Added leg. Even though leg may be hidden behind Dillinger. I added it to create shadow based on having two legs

Source for crowd waiting for tickets. The original image was from Toronto in 1937 so the clothing should be approximately right for the time. Unfortunately the picture was taken around January of 1937 and it was cold outside. It was the only source I could find of a crowd like that and one that were wearing clothing of the time period of 1934. So I guess it could be a cool night in July 1924. I added sleeves to the lady in red's dress so she would be warmer on a cool night.

Masked out everything but people. Removed the lady in front and moved the lady on far right in front of the others on right.

Added Crowd, Dillinger and Lady in Red to scene. Also used blur tool to remove artifacts all over scene.

Colorized crowd. Made a layer for each color then grouped the layers and applied Color Blend to the entire group then colored in various clothing and skin. Blurred various areas of the crowd

Added glows and highlights, after solid blue layer over everything set to multiply and all glows made in a Color Dodge group painted with various colors and opacities. Reds on Neon and neon glow. Shadows on some feet in crowd.

Camera Raw Adjustments, including Vignette to darken things up and some sharpening. Temperature reduced to cool down for white balance.
