A Work in Progress: The Pirate Boy

Sketch.

Basic coloring step, Multiply Mode with 100% Opacity Chalk Brush.

(In this contest, I try to COLOR it without values, so the colors would be vibrant enough better than any of my old artworks.)

New layer, Normal Mode, 50-100% Opacity Chalk Brush with a little smudge, dodge & burn techniques.

New layer > Normal Mode.

100% Opacity Chalk Brush.

After done with the base color, I merge upper & lower layer together (CTRL+E).

Change the BG color to clearly see through the highlights colors.

Color the cloth, minor doodles to everyplace I want.

Add new layer > Normal > start coloring the vest, backpack, ribbon (?), feather on the pirate hat. Then the pants... Kinda bored in this stage.

Finishing the pants, adding highlights to it. Start to color the items (maps) on the backpack.

Many changes in this stage...

Change the facial, the fingers that grab the pirate hat, start to color the other maps, the socks... well, can't really remember the details, lot of smudge & dodge with variant brushes...

Days 2. Well... I FORGOT TO SCREEN-SHOT MY CURRENT PROGRESS!

So... here goes... I remember to screencap after I start to color this damn beautiful shoe.

I told you I forgot to screencap, so don't get shock to see that I change the hand. I really need a time to re-adjust this one... well... worth to try & I'm assure you, I hate to screencap almost everytime...

Done repaint... lot of stuffs already attached to the BG like PXL logo... knife, armband... because I forgot to screencap. Yea, I already told you before...

DELETED TEXTURES & REMOVED FONT from previous submitted SBS entry.

ADDED HAND DRAWN TEXTURES from custom brushes & set it to Overlay Mode.
