Started painting the background using a soft brush.

Painted some noise. I painted lots of dots, then I copied and pasted them all over the place.

Distort noise to add some texture to the field. I later made it partially transparent and erased the edges.

Soften edges of noise and painted some details. Also I decided not to paint the letters in the back. Painted the ball using selection tool + soft paint brush.

Created another layer under the painted ball and started painting the player.

Ended up covering the entire image with noise. Made it partially transparent and changed the layer blending mode.
