I selected a female body sculpture by using the quick selection tool. Defringed margins and softened edges.

I selected some parts from a wodden circlet. Using the warp tool I shaped the selection to look like some monstrous arms. Colored arms to yellow (hue/saturation) and rendered natural shadows by desaturating them onto a new layer and changing blending mode to overlay.

Did the same thing for legs. All methods are the same as described in previous step.

Added collar and head by using another image of a wodden ball.

Made the initial wood selection bigger and put it on top of the body, changed blending mode to overlay to make it a bit see through.

Added main grunge texture.

Added some grunge glass texture for enlightning the whole image just a touch.

Added some exposed bricks from a PNG file that I found on Obsidian Dawn. Changed blending mode to overlay.

Added some vines, changed blending mode to overlay and sharpened them just a touch.

Added some green grunge texture to cool down the tones of the image and make it even more grunge....looking!

Added some light grunge with cracks on the sides. Repositioned it diagonally and changed blending mode to multiply.

Added some red spots using a texture brush. Blending mode overlay.

Added some frost texture and changed blending mode to overlay.

Added wings. Changed blending mode to screen and color dodge. Also colored bottom part in black for shadowing and some random red touches.

Casted shadows for each element: collar, body, wings.

Added a fill linear gradient from black to transparent on the bottom part of image for general shadows and another one from yellow to transparent on the top left side of image for light.
Corrected some areas using the clone stamp tool and added a brightness & contrast adjustment layer.
