This is the original photo. Rachel wanted to have a fun, "exotic" picture for her portfolio, but with all the fabric draping and leaf-crown manipulation, it left a lot of stray hairs. It also had a heavy "magenta" cast that didn't match well with the greens.

Added a yellower tinge using color balance on a duplicate layer.

Strays be gone! Smooth the skin.

Add depth highlights to those beautiful blue eyes.

Change the eye color to "match" the scene.

Painting special "glow" on the skin with Hue / Saturation mask

Add more dramatic contrast to background with layers of dark and light.

Final step, after merging layers was to use Liquify to close the mouth more, widen the eyes, and slim the cheek line.

Well, the first think I noticed on this photo are her eyes. As you pointed out, she has beautiful blue eyes. But why changing their color then in the next step? They don't have to blend in the scene, they should be left more distinguished from it.
