The edges of the hoverflyuare a bit too sharp, and the white balance a bit too bright for the rest of the image. I would suggest the tiniest bit of blur around the body, and reduce the white (Image>Adjustments>Selective Color) just a couple of degrees but otherwise, VERY creative! Reply »

Great work, you do these so well! I keep looking back at this, it seems so familiar, then I realized...we've had contests where the pets look like the owner, this one looks like Mad magazine's Alfred E. Neuman's!

very funny and incredibly well made. The guy on the left looks amazing, while there's a lil bit of chromatic disturb on the mouth of the dog with the cap! Reply »

Kind of fun, BUT: The theme specifically requires 'buildings.' I find the Top Dog trailer in source 1 more convincing as a trailer than this low-contrast (but admittedly much more realistic) verson. Reply »
True the theme does describe buildings but we can allow a little flexibility, after all I did write "Your goal is to make a structure like these," and a trailer is a structure and this one certainly reflects the goal of the contest. Nicely done author! Reply »

(this is terrific.. love the double chin and the jawline is awesome

IMO, I think you should give her a 2nd and 3rd chin. If she was really this fat, she would have another chin hanging.
I'll hold my vote... Reply »

Great entry. Perhaps the fly could stand out from the statue more though? I actually missed it on first glance. GL author Reply »
Don't change a thing! The fly is perfect, in that it DOESN'T jump out at the eye. Flies are like that when they are "normal" sized.
The fly has a shadow on the statue. Possibly a bit more for the bottom of the wing on the right, but otherwise the perspective is spot on.
I especially appreciate the translucence of the wing on the left, showing the road behind it.
This is delightfully "icky!" The only way it could have been better would have been if the statue was a stone hamburger or something. Very nice work! Reply »
There is a bluish fringe where it hasn't been extracted from the source image properly... and there's also an issue with light direction and the 'footing' of the fly on the statue... other than that, it does need a shadow but more a 'profile' added to the shadow being cast on the floor...
EDIT: the flys shadow would actually need to be profiled on the shadow being cast on the first flat surface... not the floor... Reply »

i hate to be a geek here, but author, your image has wrong physics.. the water will flow downwards in the absence of gravity.. (Newtons first law).. So to me this is unbelievable... But as far as your execution is concerned, i find it impressive
.. good luck ..
EDIT: I reread the contest theme.. Although the title suggests no gravity, the description suggests differently. I take back my geeky words and good luck again, author

The black and green scarecrow as everyone knows
Stood with a bird on his hat and straw everywhere.
He didn't care.
He stood in a field where barley grows.
His head did no thinking
His arms didn't move except then the wind cut up
Rough and mice ran around on the ground
He stood in a field where barley grows.
The black and green scarecrow is sadder than me
But now he's resigned to his fate
'Cause life's not unkind - he doesn't mind.
He stood in a field where barley grows

LOL! Nice image. If you look at the main giracock the shadows under its leg is way darker, I think the giracock in the back should be similar. Also to the untrained eye, one wouldn't notice the work involved to change the light source on the further most giracock. Maybe a sbs to show off your talent. Reply »

I liked the hair better when it was darker. The branches looked like they were part of her hair which I think was better. But you already got high points from me so never mind! Reply »
