Took the source and made it into a fountain to go in the middle[ish] of a lake I know from home.
v1.1 toned down the fountain a little bit to make it fit a little better.
I am going to sleep now, but will make any more suggest improvements in the morning. (5 years and 3611 days ago)

If you apply a displacement map to the reflection it will look more realistic. A tutorial on displacement maps can be found here: http://www.photoshopsupport.com/elements/tutorials/displace-filter/displacement-map.html

Look at the fountain reflection on the high res, I think it works pretty well.

very nice usage of source image. you forgot the fountain water in the reflection. And also include ripples on the water surface
If yuo are gonna fix the refelection, take a look at the water that, uhm, rains down, it doesn;t have reflection now. Looks pretty good overal
