your symbol looks like its floating try making it fit to the tree or something maybe an overlay...
It would look more realistic if it was wooden.

I like the idea of it being wood burned in, but the blur around the "pxleyes" still seems unnatural. I would either just keep it as the original bark or make it a wooden of golden plated plaque nailed to the tree.
