I think you should remove the shadow completely. Highly reflective surfaces that show reflections don't show strong shadows like that. The reflection alone will ground the subject and it would look much cleaner that way.
It's not unusual to have an idea similar to another entry as long as it's your own concept and you don't rip off another entry. A defeatist attitude won't help you to win anything just do your best and let the votes decide. Reply »
