There is a lighting issue here, which doesn't make this real believable, but it IS funny. Perhaps work on him
with the lighting. Look at the dress and see that it's being directly hit with light from the top. A close shadow on flesh would help make the dress look as if it's being worn. 
It would've been even funnier if u let the groom be a guy too... maybe a surprised one seeing what's under his beloved's vail. But good as it is too hehe (maybe u could adjust the proportions: the girl\s head is too small or the costume is too big, while the guy's head is huge)

he has a big head, looks like a cut out poster next to her and well, just shocking lol the background doesnt match and this is what is making him look like a poster cut.. goodluck anyway author.
Regarding the head sizes, look at the original bride and groom source image and you will see that the guy's head is bigger than the girl's. Seeing I have put them closer together they just appear larger but the proportions aren't incorrect in my opinion.
