AUTHOR..this would be a great to practice the burn tool on... just place it on an empty layer and adust the settings on the burn tool (It's just like an eraser or paintbrush.. it has three main settings... Hightlight, Midtone, and Shadow.. experiment with different size and settings to get different effects..you'll be amazed what it does with a little practice. good luck (the burn tool is the little hand thingy Reply »

Perhaps think about softening some of your edges. They look to sharp/cut out. This will help. Good job!

EDIT: Much better! Nice job! Reply »

GolemAura - I tried to use a blank layer above but when I tried to use the shadows they did not seem to work for me as nothing was going on the blank layer above so not sure If is my machine or me lol - however I did just remember something from an old turtorial that stuck with me - I was able to use curves on my image and bring down color then inverse the curve layer and just paint in the shadows to the areas needed around. However I have never been good at shadows but I try Reply »

pixelkid - Thanks for the tip I did go in while making adjustments and took the blur tool to the edges around the little house just to soften them up a tad more. Thanks for the help on this Reply »
