The superstition has it that a persons shoes were placed on the table after their death. To put shoes on the table is said to be tempting fate. I have also heard that putting shoes on the table means that there will be a quarrel in the household. (5 years and 3323 days ago)

Yes exactly Mperri - especially if you saw what was walked in before the above shoes went on the table lol!! I think a lot of superstitions have a genuine reason behind them like germs from the above shoes.
