I think if you would have taken the photo of the lake without the fence or rails in front of it, and if the horizon were straightened out it could have been a much better photograph. I also think it is slightly under exposed.

Well I took through a window and the sun was already wide so with the window It gave it this blurred and misted effect...
Yes, obviously but still results are an OoF shot of your intended subject.
Super shot of the glass though.
