There is a small village near us that is a well-known stop on the "underground railroad." Every year they have ceremonies commemorating the brave people who helped slaves run to safety. This memorial was dedicated in 1880 to the soldiers who died in the Civil War. The four sides have "Charity, Loyalty, Fraternity, and Bravery." It is dedicated to the brave men who died to "preserve the Constitution and end slavery." (5 years and 2569 days ago)
