A single "Jelly Belly" jelly bean. Of course I can't stop at just one. (needs high res) (5 years and 709 days ago)

avatar still26
still26 says:

Much clearer in high res. Usually when I vote on an image, if it is not clear, I always go to high res and I'm glad I did with this. Clear and sharp and a mystery to me how you got that one jelly bean to stand at attention?! I like the mottling effect of red on the yellow and that creates a story for I thought it was a lichen of some sort. Lichen on a jelly bean....I need to ask you what flavour this one was....no no no no no you cannot stop at one! Well framed and thank you for sharing this. Today I will buy some - all thanks to you.

author says:

Thanks for the comment. Getting a single one to stand on end is one of those mysteries of the universe! Or... I stuck a thumbtack under the cloth and had the point come through and stuck the jelly bean on top of that.

I probably shouldn't keep a bowl of these on my desk. People keep making excuses to "talk." Great example of a guilty pleasure!

author says:

I stopped keeping a bowl at work because I just sat there and stuffed them into my face all day long.

You need to try the diet jelly bean eating method. Day one, eat only the blueberry ones. Day two eat only the lemon. Day three eat the rest and follow it up with a whole Sara Lee cheesecake, after all you've been on a diet.

LOL... sounds good to me

I have an EXTREME weakness for sour Gummy Bears. (5 years and 710 days ago)

LOL, well let's get together then...me too, gummy bears, jelly beans, ice cream. This image looks soft on the upload, but it is OK in high resolution. The cornucopia of colours gives us a visual eye candy treat. Nice crystal bowl set against a black background. You thought about creating the perfect photo and it worked. You most likely know that a circular point of view formatted into a perfect square really intensifies the holding power of an image as our eyes bounce off the equidistant sides of the four corners.

If you're going to succumb to a guilty pleasure - give in to it! (5 years and 711 days ago)

avatar still26
still26 says:

YES YES YES to succumbing to guilty pleasures , but is there really such a thing as a guilty pleasure? I loved exploring this image. My eyes travelled along a delightful visual journey first being astonished at the prices / per pound. Then I read the first word in all the ingredients "SUGAR" and lastly I looked at the delights on hand. As you well know, colour affects us carbon based bi-peds in many ways and your explosion of colours and shapes delights the viewers. From jelly beans to melty mints all is sharp and so clear to see and that diagonal slash reallly boosts the holding power of this image. Technically well done too, natural and unpretentious and oh so delicious.

author says:

Thanks. I don't look at the ingredients etc. I just look for the biggest bag to fill.
