Love the idea behind this photo, but I feel a lot more could have been done with the subject and the lighting. I assume it is a posed photo. GL
Perhaps a reflector to lighten up the bottom of the hand, or even white on the tale to contrast with the black background.

It's one of my irritating things I can't figure out
I love the positioning of their hands but maybe more contrast to blacken the black background?
