Thank you Madamemonty for comment and question. Well, I am not an expert, but all I can say: This happens sometimes in Springtime in the Arctic North (btw, I only work there but not live). it is a very small lake along the road. The snow started to melt during the day under the bushes created some stream and during the night it got frozen again.
