I'm not sure it the image is over sharpened, or if it's an HDR that has not aligned properly, but there is something not quite right.

The replacement is absolutely delightful

Now, in my humble opinion, this is one HECKAVA capture here. I absolutely love the blue colors, the baggy jeans on the boy, his shoes askew like kids are prone to do, the girl trying to get the model thing going, the peeling paint on wall, etc. High score from me and good luck, author.
