Contest goal:

-NOT MY IDEA- but just too good to ignore... I read about Irina Werning's recreating people's favorite old photos... That Christmas shot of you discovering your new bike when you were nine, or when you were just beginning to date your better half... Stage, match props, people and lighting to time travel back and forth...better days then, and now...

As an exception on our rules you are allowed to use Photoshop and all techniques possible to make your new shot have the look and feel of the original shot. Post the original photo in the SBS (do not post the it together with the entry as a diptych!)

Artifakts: I'll pass my turn for this one ! It's more a "set up" contest than a "photography" one ! ( 5 years and 2017 days ago )
awediot: It's both...and yes, it is going to take some work if "you're" up for the challenge... All still life/studio shots are set up shots btw.

Mods...might you extend the deadline, since you're making exceptions here? How about two weeks to get it done? ( 5 years and 2016 days ago )
karaflazz: Challenging theme...Hmmmmm!
( 5 years and 2016 days ago )
friiskiwi: The way I read the theme, the author does not need to be the photographer of the original photo? ( 5 years and 2016 days ago )
WYSIWYG: its a pity contest says no diptych, because in my opinion the best way to show it is in a diptych
( 5 years and 2015 days ago )
awediot: " the best way to show it is in a diptych" I agree. It was not a condition in my original suggestion. ( 5 years and 2014 days ago )
kyricom: You don't need to set up a thing. It's just a chopping contest. "you are allowed to use Photoshop and all techniques possible to make your new shot have the look and feel of the original shot." Should probably be over on the chopping side. ( 5 years and 2013 days ago )
Wayne Cheah: Looks like history does not repeat itself that often? ( 5 years and 2012 days ago )
Artifakts: I'm not the only one who pass over this one ! ^_^ ( 5 years and 2010 days ago )
awediot: Serious respect for all four of you who submitted a piece...and ditto for any of you who tried to make something you could be proud of, and failed... It was NOT an easy theme. - Personally, I wanted more a family shot than I could pull off, and thought a portrait would be sort of a cop out; until I couldn't even accomplish that in time... All the pieces have my admiration, and a bit of envy. And my sincere thank you for not letting this suggestion die totally unanswered. [-but, my efforts have broken ground for creating something great in the future, so worth it anyway ] ( 5 years and 2008 days ago )
