Victoria, BC gets very little snow, and you can usually go sailing any day of the year. Not today! (5 years and 2801 days ago)
amazing
This was taken at a local pond right as fall was changing over to winter. No filters or anything were used for this shot. It was right after dawn and there were so many ice crystals in the air that as the early sun shone through them they cast colors on the pond. I have never seen anything like that before!
Please view in high res if you have time. (5 years and 2799 days ago)
This doesn't necessarily show a dichotomy, just snow on a boat...
This theme has produced a lot of controversy. I think that almost each one of the entries could be questioned in one way or the other, because weather happens. Late snow on flowers or chairs , a rainy day, a stormy day, or a frosty morning are not really unusual. Most require explanations to "get" it. The term "dichotomized" means divided or opposed, not unusual. Our normal ability to sail all winter is opposed to the snow storm and I believe illustrates divided weather. By your judgement, only snow on flowers qualifies? Not all that unusual either. The theme is somewhat flawed.
Howdie stranger!
