cool! How did they do that?
I'm sure I have seen this before, or one like it. Was it before the crash?
I think the author pressed real light bulbs in the sand, removed them.. and placed lighted switches in the impression then took the picture.. that's my theory..hehehe.. loved to know the method
Very cool shot! best of luck to ya !
Drivenslush is almost right. Only the light are made by those little birthdaycake candles sticked completely into the sand.
Was my own idea, during some practical lesson.
What an amazing idea, and really well done!
Wonderful, will have to try this some time. Thanks for sharing. How dark was it when you did it.
Dark room only spotlight from the side to create the shadows.
High ISO to have short shuttertime (holding your camera too long above candles is not a good idea )
I knew those were candles. Clever idea! GL!
This is what I call being creative! Awesome.
absolutely mindblowin idea!!!
very nice idea, I love the result..good luck
congratulations, great shot, and thanks for sharing how to. I suspect it's not as easy as it sounds.
congrats for this special photo

Beautiful! Those detailed textures are simply amazing..gl
great capture of a wonderful piece of art. I would love to be able to see someone make something like this. All that work into something that just washes away, they must be keen
I grew up on an island where they had contests like this every year. Some of these people are amazingly talented. This is a good one
OMG! how do people do it! THis is awesome!!!!! GL!!!!
You were lucky to capture it! GL!
congrats for the shared score at the first places

What an amazing sculpture. And a really great angle to shoot this from too, well taken.
Agree with Ray, well taken! I can't believe that some people are able to do stuff like that with sand! Nice picture author and good luck
beautiful sand sculpture!
I love these sand scuptures. I'm so jealous of those who can do it
oh thx what a narrow result of this contest.
a master piece
Outstanding catch. well done.
Really draws you in! Nice shot!
beautiful, the first really interesting photo.
Great pattern. Leads the eye
Great eye on this one! Angle is sooo nice
Definitely one of the best! It's like one giant fingerprint! Definitely have my vote for 1st! GL!
the pic made close to a beach in tenerife, settings changed in camera raw. (5 years and 1548 days ago)
That's a pretty cool effect caused by that pipe (or whatever it is). Could've used a little deeper DOF
thank you. I have couple of shoot of this with deeper dof, but hardly recognizable what is on the picture.
Love the leading line on the left.
Very good eye author!
