Might be a little heavy on the saturation... you're getting a halo effect around the silhouette

The Halo effect was done on purpose, to emphasise the backlight on the island.

I thought so too, but my photography level is not high enough

I'm not sure this is backlit as much as side lit (look at the kids shadow)

LOOK at the halo of light on his head!

Nice shot good mood, to me this is backlight IMO

I first thought it was very noisy, but I think it's a scanned photo that has been pushed a little too far.
