When we're inside, most of us don't bother to look up. But if we did, we might see some amazing things covering our heads. There might be a glass ceiling, a boat's ceiling or other unexpected forms.

Your job in this contest is simple. Find an unusual ceiling and take a shot of it. You can shoot any ceiling other than brick. Good luck!

For reference, this might help clarify the guidelines here:

A ceiling is an overhead interior surface that bounds ("ceils") the upper limit of a room. It is generally not a structural element, but a finished surface concealing the underside of the floor or roof structure above.

workhorse0graphics: Ok, now we have arguments on is or is not a glass dome is a ceiling if shot from the inside or is it just the roof and does not qualify in this contest.Webster's II defines a celiling as "the upper surface of a room." I have a photo of a greenhouse from the inside I would like to enter, but don't want to if it is going to be off contest. ( 5 years and 3282 days ago )

adeincyprus: a ceiling is the upper inside limit of a room, ceiling the room from the roof, or upper floor. A greenhouse has a roof, not a celing......a covering over a building made from glass is a roof!.......any covering over a building that does not have a ceiling is a roof!....even the Cystine Chapel has a void between the ceiling and the roof!..... King's College Chapel is one of the most iconic buildings in the world, and is a splendid example of late Gothic (Perpendicular) architecture. It was started in 1446 by Henry VI (1421-71) and took over a century to build. It has the largest fan vault ceiling in the world and some of the finest medieval stained glass.
