Many various sources to dress and provision the dwarf. I found that transforming down the dwarf only partially works. Need to add more or less normal size head, arms, and feet etc. Used chain-mail source to create a pattern made somewhat seamless and used as needed for the chain-mail parts.

I divided the dogs helmet into top (cap) and bottom (eye covering) and found it was easier to warp them separately onto the dog. The shield was placed over the dog's mouth, then reduced transparency, then masked out so it looked like the dog had the shield in his mouth.
Finally tilt-shift blurred the background image a little to give some depth of field.
Some dodge and burning to finalize.
