initial idea, cut out the pier, flip and merge. nebula placed in the bg. this sort of a bridge will be cropped significantly due to make some more space for the other things that needs to be shown :)

making of the planet. select the part of the sand with nice texture and sphereize. make it blue

for the clouds/atmosphere :) duplicate/desaturate/invert/ ... select whites only( i used marquee tool on the white area, and the select similar) copy/ paste on the separate layer. then distort/ twirl. drop shadow added for the cloud shadow.
