A Work in Progress: Hair

I desaturated the source image and used filters to change it into a sketch effect to make it easier to use as a guide for making text paths.
I used the pen tool to make paths and added text to them.

step 2 of 3

I added a white background to make it easier to see the paths. Continued making paths and adding text in different fonts. The texts were transformed with the transform and warping tools.
I turned the white background on and off as I needed to make new paths for the hair flow.

step 3 of 3

I decided I had enough text so I played around with colours and effects for the text and background. I decided to use the pink hair colour from the source image for most of the larger text and some of the flesh colour for other text and the eye shadow colour for the eye text. I then blurred the source image into oblivion so I just had the blurred colors, then inverted them for the background so they contrasted with the text to make the text stand out more.
