Making the firefly for in the front I used this non lighting one.

A combination of lensflare-effect and another layer with a yellow fill, will do fine for the backside of this firefly.

Flatten the layers and cut the firefly out. I used the Gaussian blur for the big fireflies in the front, to give them an illusion of being out of focus.
