Pieced together the monster using warp and liquify.

Shading using adjustment layers and paint. I used warp to lengthen the fingers of the hand.

After shading the monster, I desaturated it and used color adjustment layers to color it. The parts that already have color are parts that I painted.

I began changing the room by building walls.

With the walls built, I added the train and lamp.

I copied parts of the bed covers to make pillows and lumps and used liquify to rumple the covers. I also created a closet and door using distort. The carpet was made by laying down a solid color, then using burn and dodge with natural brushes to variegate the color.

Added some art work for the walls.

I covered the whole thing with a low opacity dark color and then changed the layer mode to multiply. The strips show the difference. Some minor adjustments and I'm done.
