I used various colors to shade the black and white dancer. I copied a part of her arm to create her chest and collar bones using the burn tool. The top image demonstrates what happens when you use a clipping mask. The layer you have "clipped" to the original layer will only show on the original layer.

I blended two pieces of the grill (?) together and then used warp and liquify to shape. I used adjustment layers to shade.

After making 3 ribbons using the color picker tool for the colors, I used warp to twist the ribbons. Adjustment layers to shade.
