The rock field is a plane that is shaped by soft selecting vertices and repositioning them.

The lava field is 3 different chamfered boxes. To each of these I applied a displacement modifier using a noise texture map. The strength of each displacement modifier differs per box. Some shaping was done by moving vertices. In the background there is a plane with the photograph from flicr.com as it's texture

The textures are combinations of glow materials and noise materials as bump maps.
