i first made a cube then i scaled and copy 2 more times inside of him adding less and less refract to simulate the dense inside

step 2 was moving vertexes so it wouldn't be so uniform and adding a 3x3x3 ffd modifier for the same reason

3rd step was making the melted water with a line bezier corner then convert to edit poly, inset and turbosmooth
