Cropped and duplicated the background twice at multiply 65%. Added a hue/saturation layer

Duplicated the snail and set it to overlay. Added a hue/saturation layer

Added the sitting woman. Duplicated and with "match color" adjusted the color to the snail. Set the layer to Darken. Added a hue/saturation layer to it.

Added the standing woman.
1. With healing brush and clone stamp adjusted the legs. Added Layermask so that they appear to be behind a leaf.
2. Duplicated the layer, Color matched it to the snail. Set it to lighter color and added hue/saturation.
3. With liquify changed the ear to be more elf like

Added wings.
Duplicated it twice, set first duplicate to lighter color and second one to soft light.
Using distort adjusted them in place.
Added some adjustment layers;
Curves, Hue/Saturation, Exposure, Vibration.

Duplicated the wing, placed it behind the first one.
Using distord and perspective placed it in the right place.

Added some pixie dust to the wings. Using a brush from http://rl-brushes.deviantart.com/art/Angel-Dust-21745224

Duplicated the wing and pixie dust. Placed it behind the standing pixie and adjusted the shape.

Duplicated the wing. Mirrored it. Using layer mask placed the wing so it looked like it is behind the toadstool

For the final result I tweaked it here and there to let it all blend in some more to my liking.

With rectangular marguee tool selected the image. Created a border for it in a color from the picture
