A Work in Progress: Glass

step 1 of 2

In the first photo, on left,
I had two flash units fired into umbrellas and two table light lighting up the background. Used quite a long exposure time so the table lights would have some effect.
I also used a polarizing filter to cut back on the reflections.

step 2 of 2

For the second photograph, on the right, I removed the umbrellas from the flash units and aimed them at the ceiling. I also place some black card on either side of the decanter to give more definition to the glass.
