This was made with Photoshop. Used as the poster on wall, it was mapped onto a box geometry. Composition was made using shapes the pen tool and fonts from DaFont.com

This model was generated using the tube, cylinder and box, simple geometry shapes where possible. Alterations made to the vertices of these polygons made the shapes for neck and the tuners. The bridge, the shield over the banjo's head and ring was generated by spline to poly. Strings and frets are simple splines. following is a exploded view of the parts.
