Blend the hob out into whit by using the brush and mixer brush.

Make the background white and finish blending the hob into into it.

Open the kettle and cut it out from the background.

Add more perspective to the hob to make it appear flatter. Make the kettle smaller and position it on the hob. Create a shadow of the kettle by duplicating it and making black, flip it upside down, distort and then skew. decrease the opacity to finish off.

Open the genie and cut him out from the background and roughly blend the smoke.

Liquify the genie to look as though he is coming out from the kettle and to define the smoke.

Create more smoke by sourcing colours from the original and painting them in. Use gaussian blur to bed.

Finish creating the smoke in the same method as step 8.

Finalise image by erasing some smoke in front of genie's face and around the kettle spout.

I then decided to add a background and so used a cave image. I performed some basic editing in camera raw.

A hod didn't fit in with the cave so I used a camping stove image. I also performed some basic editing in camera raw on this image.

Erase the background to the stove and place it in the cave.

Add genie and the kettle to the cave.

Position the stove and genie.

Add a glow from the fire using a colour sourced from the fire and a feathered brush, changing the blending mode to colour burn.
