I used the clone stamp (cloned the lip texture) to fill in custom marquees drawn with the pen tool. This will eventually be the skin.

Used the burn and dodge tools for shadows and highlights.

Changed the color of the skin.

Began drawing the eye, I used the tutorial listed in my sources to draw the eye.

added more detail to the eye.

added some vains to the eye.

drew the body using the pen tool and filled it using the clone stamp in the same manner I filled in the skin in the second step.

drew antennas and used the burn and dodge tools to create more shadows and highlights. I also threw in a backdrop and blurred it.
