I started with a gradient background and placing the image of the man.

Here I placed the image of the hat and masked out the white area.

I used the burn and dodge tools to create some shadows and highlights.

I cut out the birds nest and used the burn and dodge tools to create some shadows and highlights

In this step I placed the worm.

I cut out the worm and warped it to fit in the birds mouth. I then desaturated it and used the burn and dodge tools to create shadows.
