The sphere shapes were scaled and the opacity lowered with each layer. The layers arranged to form a tunnel effect. Some eraser work done to them.

Painted in some light at end of tunnel. Gargoyle masked, placed and shaded. A layer of midnight blue layer blend to difference and opacity at 57%.

Added the sphere shapes made with polar coordinates distortion. Some brightness and opacity variances to each one, and a glowing edges filter to one.

Added the reaper and his shadow. An outer glow FX on the reaper.

Original source duplicated. Duplicate layer was desaturated and opacity lowered and a levels adjustment layer clipped to it. Some work done with exposure and levels to complete image.
