I created the eyes ears and mouth of the beaver and gave the background a light orange to dark orange gradient.

I drew the beaver head using the pen tool.

I drew the tree using the pen tool.

I drew the hill and gave it a little shadow.

I drew more of a shadow on the hil and turned off the sketch layer.

I created 7 white rectangles evenly spaced apart and then went to filter > distort > polar coordinates to create the starburst in the sky.

I added a highlight and shadow to the tree using the pen tool.
