source has been duplicated with each duplication being turned 1/4 using scale tool. These will be merged to cover canvas.

New merged image is now duplicated again to fill three quarters this time. Background layer is painted black.

Chair is chopped and added in the empty corner and will be sized to fit figure when it is added. It will also be flipped horizontally (edit/flip hor) since lighting will be coming from left side.

Guitar player is now chopped and added on layer over the chair.

Spotlight is added using the filter/render/spotlight tool.
step 7 of 7
With brush tools, some swirled lines are added, with eraser tool trimming edges and also softening parts not in the spotlight. These swirls represent the music swirling through the chairs - thus the title, Musical Chairs.
