I used a side picture of a crane to get the basic shapes

Using a real paper crane as a reference, I modeled the real layers of the origami.

I chose to change the shape of the neck and tail area.

I started to combine the layers of paper, while converting to 3d.
step 5 of 7
Mirrored the left half the crane, and created tail.
step 6 of 7
Mirrored again to make up the other side and seamed together.
step 7 of 7
Bent wings down, and colored blue.
