On a canvas with a dark color, blue feathers have been chopped, then edges smudged slightly to be used for bird.

Here the liquify warp tool has been used in forming head and body of bird.

Wings are started here by duplicating feathers scaled smaller, and beak has been pulled using liquify warp tool.

Back and tail also complete by duplicating and scaling feathers into layers.

Liquify warp is used on a duplicated image of the source mask to begin background .

Image has been scaled into narrow strip, then duplicated to fill canvas. Strips are merged into a single layer.

Liquify warp is used again on the newly merged strips, moving horizontally.

Distort/spherize filter has been applied.

Craquelure filter added now. Color changes will be made as work progresses to create better contrasts for girl and bird.

Girl has been chopped, and arm from second photo was lassoed and moved over body. Arm will be rotated and scaled then merged onto girl's body.

Mask is added to girl's face now and bird added to sit on her arm. It's feet will be added using a brush tool. Mask will also have some work on feathers, using smudge tool to better fit over her nose. Eyes will be erased to show girl's eyes, then burn tool will darken eyes and face behind the mask.

Girl's shirt has been lassoed, then color changed. Her skin color has been brightened as well.

From black strip below mask, leaves are created as shown using liquify warp tool and smudge and eraser tools. Color changes and scaling will be used to vary color and sizes of the leaves. Some will also be reduced in opacity to just leave shapes like shadows on background.

Foliage has been added , a gradient layer in yellow/oranges added, and after merging layers, edges of entire image have been darkened with burn tool. A filter/render/omni light is also added toward center of image before background is merged with other layers.

Finally, a yellow filter at 25% is added over entire merged image.
