The tree - after masking it I made flames following a tutorial by Neville D'Souza published in The Artist's Guide to Photoshop (2011 issue)

I flipped the lighter but being aware of the text on it. I used healing there. I changed its color tone a bit. For the lightning I used a brush by adaae stock on deviantart. http://adaae-stock.deviantart.com/art/Lightning-brushes-31707592

I masked the spoonbill from the spoonbill contest source image and added some color to make it a phoenix. Beside that I liquified its bill.
