drew out the design

laid out skin color and began highlighting and shading

scale was made with small oval colored with two primary colors shading and highlighting

scales then applied in a shingle pattern over entire males tail then all scale layers merged, cleaned up, shaded and highlighted.

tail fin is done with colors pulled out with smudge tool, then a bar drawn on top and higlighting and shading added.

female tail is done the same with this as the scale

bra top s colored in, shaded and high lighted

Hair was done by using smudge tool dragging it through the chosen colors and then highlighting and shading

background color was added behind ind dodge tool used to create light coming from above.

I created the bubble with a soft round brush then erasing the center and highlighting with soft round brush. On another layer I added the colors and then turned down the visibility, merged, turned down visibility again and blurred. Then I placed the bubbles in different sizes on two different layers to put then behind and in front of the picture.

I drew a rock and colored it for shading and highlighting. I then added my merpeople and shaded the rock.
